I have never felt so honored as an artist to have one of my students, Sally
Petrillo, approach me with the idea of a Scholarship Fund.
Sally and I believe in what I call "the circle of giving". It has been very
exciting to see it grow and grow, with the efforts and generosity of many
friends and students. If you would like to "give" to the Lynn Travis
Scholarship, the following letter outlines the instructions.
Thank you for your generosity and support.

Dear Friend of the Arts,

Friends of Lynn Travis Stender had asked that Women in the Visual Arts (WITVA) start a scholarship fund in her honor, in 2003. Lynn has chosen to use the donations for the high school students participating in our annual art show. The Lynn Travis Stender Scholarship fund raising committee, donates 100% of the funds raised for the High School Art Program.

Women in the Visual Arts is sponsoring the WITVA SPRING CELEBRATION OF HIGH SCHOOL ART 2007 on exhibit from March 1st through March 30th. It is being Hosted by SUGAR SAND PARK at the Community Center, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton, Fl. (561) 347-3900. In addition, Sugar Sand Park is hosting a “Family Day”, with many activities, to coincide with the art show to further participation by the teachers, students and their families.
This show reflects the excellent work done by talented students under the guidance of outstanding teachers in our Palm Beach County public high schools. The WITVA SPRING CELEBRATION OF HIGH SCHOOL ART is known for its high rate of participation by the art teachers and their students, and is particularly respected for its educational scholarships and numerous incentive awards.

To continue to make this event outstanding, and to encourage art in our schools, we are asking local businesses, individuals and professionals to contribute cash awards as well as art materials to those deserving students whose artwork will be judged as prize winning. Our award donor’s will be mentioned in the program at the Awards Ceremony and in all publicity pertaining to this event.
Your support in this venture, which gives credit to the teaching of visual arts in the high schools, will enhance the success of this show. Please send your contribution, made payable to WITVA, Lynn Travis Stender Scholarship c/o Phyllis C. Annunziato, 2628 NW 64th Place, Boca Raton, Florida 33496-2005. It would be most helpful if your donation could reach us by February 15, so that we will know what awards are available.

You are cordially invited to attend the show, the awards ceremony and reception as well as Family Day at Sugar Sand Park on Sunday, March 30th, 2008.
